The Lahore High Court's registrar office has declined a request from a non-profit foundation seeking access to records of Bhagat Singh and his associates Rajguru and Sukhdev, sparking controversy.

Filed by Bhagat Singh Memorial Foundation Pakistan chairman Imtiaz Rasheed Qureshi, the application sought judicial records from the LHC's special tribunal dated October 7, 1930. However, the registrar's office upheld its refusal, purporting that it lacked the authority to release such documents without explicit court orders.

Qureshi decried the decision as a significant injustice, indicating his intention to lodge a petition with the Lahore High Court. Singh, celebrated for his bravery in the independence movement, was executed alongside his comrades by the British on March 23, 1931, solidifying his status as a national hero.
