Jharkhand Police have successfully apprehended five individuals from an interstate gang suspected of looting approximately Rs 50 lakh from a total of 14 ATMs. The arrests took place in Haryana and Bihar, authorities disclosed on Thursday.

According to Ramgarh SP Ajay Kumar, the formation of a Special Investigation Team (SIT) followed the theft of Rs 1.30 lakh from an ATM on Gola Road in the Ramgarh police station area on August 23. That same day, ATMs in the Chatra district lost Rs 17.95 lakh, and the following day witnessed a theft of Rs 29.50 lakh in Bihar's Nawada district.

The SIT achieved a breakthrough on September 30, capturing one of the heist's masterminds, Asif alias Ganja, aged 25, in Haryana's Nuh district. Four accomplices were later apprehended in Bihar on Wednesday, identified as Aslam Miyan, Avinash Giri, Sunil Giri, and Guddu Singh, with Rs 1.70 lakh and four vehicles also recovered.
