Poland's government is clamping down on alcohol sales to minors and stopping nighttime sales at gas stations, according to Health Minister Izabela Leszczyna. This move follows an uptick in alcohol-related accidents, pushing for stricter enforcement.

Currently, vendors may, but are not required, to verify buyers' ages—changes coming soon will mandate this responsibility. 'Sellers will need to act with more awareness and accountability,' Leszczyna said on Radio Zet.

The crackdown extends to a recent incident involving colorful, squeezable alcohol packs mimicking children's snacks, resulting in a minister's resignation. Despite Poland's major vodka and beer production, with alcohol taxes contributing significantly to the economy, losses due to related incidents remain a concern.
