A Russian prosecutor has put forward a proposal for a nine-year and one-month prison sentence for former U.S. Marine, Robert Gilman, according to the state-run RIA news agency. Gilman, who is already serving time for attacking a police officer, will have his verdict announced on October 7.
Back in October 2022, Gilman was handed a 4-1/2 year sentence in a Russian penal colony due to his drunken altercation with a police officer. However, this sentence was subsequently reduced to 3-1/2 years.
Now, Gilman is facing a new trial related to separate assault charges, which has led the prosecutor to seek the increased sentence.
