In a tragic turn of events, the main accused in the illegal firecracker factory explosion case in Bareilly, Uttar Pradesh, was apprehended on Thursday. The blast, which occurred on Wednesday, claimed five lives, including two young children.
The explosion demolished several residences in the Sirauli area, where the factory operated illegally at the home of Rehman Shah. Nasir Shah, Shah's son-in-law, was identified as the mastermind behind the operation and was arrested.
Authorities are investigating further, with local police and the State Disaster Response Force engaged in search and rescue efforts. One person remains unaccounted for, while the aftermath of the incident has led to a suspension of several police officials pending inquiry.
