The Supreme Court is preparing to hear several petitions regarding the controversial allegations of animal fat being used in the preparation of Tirupati laddus. The issue, which has gained significant public and political attention, is now seeking judicial intervention for a potential court-monitored investigation.

Differing opinions emerged after Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu alleged that the previous government, led by Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy, used animal fat in the laddus. The court had earlier expressed concerns about keeping religious matters free from political influences, urging a careful and impartial examination of the evidence.

A Special Investigation Team was constituted shortly after an FIR was registered. As the case unfolds, the court faces the decision of whether the investigation should remain with the state-appointed SIT or be transferred to an independent agency. Meanwhile, political tension continues to escalate between parties in the region.
