In Kapas village, a land dispute turned deadly as the son of the village head was killed in a violent altercation. The incident, reported by police on Wednesday, stemmed from a long-standing conflict between Gram Pradhan Poonam Devi and Sher Singh.
The clash escalated into stone-pelting, leading to 25-year-old Sumit being fatally struck on the head with a brick. Several others were injured in the skirmish. Upon being alerted, police immediately transported Sumit to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries the following day.
The victim's family and community members gathered at the Senior Superintendent of Police's office, accusing the authorities of negligence and delay in providing medical assistance, a charge police official Sagar Jain has vowed to investigate. He stated that Sumit received medical attention and pledged further action pending the inquiry's findings.
