On Thursday, jailed former minister Satyendar Jain petitioned the Delhi High Court for 'default bail' in connection with a money laundering case, asserting that the Enforcement Directorate's (ED) investigation is still incomplete.

Jain's lawyer argued in court that the trial court's decision to recognize the charge sheet was based on insufficient information, rendering it invalid according to legal standards. Justice Manoj Kumar Ohri scheduled further hearings for October 9 to deliberate on arguments from both parties.

The court allowed Jain's legal team to submit brief written statements in the matter. The ED's counsel noted that a recent decision by a coordinate bench had dismissed similar 'default bail' requests from co-accused Ankush and Vaibhav Jain, based on the premise of an incomplete investigation.
