In a bid to maintain public order, police arrested eight people who were allegedly preparing to organize a procession without official clearance. The group intended to voice opposition following the death of Hezbollah leader Sheikh Hassan Nasrallah in an Israeli airstrike on Beirut.
The incident unfolded on Wednesday night within the Jais police jurisdiction, where Inspector Rajol Singh confirmed that individuals had gathered at the Naugji intersection. There, they were reported to be raising slogans in support of Nasrallah and making arrangements for an unauthorized procession.
Singh disclosed that a similar unpermitted procession had been organized previously. Upon receiving a tip-off, police arrived at the scene and attempted to dissuade participants from proceeding with the procession, ultimately leading to the arrests of eight individuals including Ansar, Zeeshan, and Syed Ahmed.
