In a scathing critique, Kim Yo Jong, the influential sister of North Korean leader Kim Jong Un, condemned a South Korean military parade as a 'clown show.' Her remarks, disseminated by North Korea's state media outlet KCNA on Thursday, targeted the event held in Seoul for its Armed Forces Day this week.

Kim dismissed South Korea's military prowess showcased during the event, particularly criticizing the flypast of a U.S. B-1B bomber. In her statement, she questioned the efficacy of such displays, pointing to South Korea's newly exhibited Hyunmoo-5 missile, capable of bearing an eight-ton warhead, as symbolic of a 'uselessly bulky weapon.'

Spearheading the parade, South Korean President Yoon Suk Yeol declared that Pyongyang's use of nuclear weapons would signal its regime's demise. The Seoul air base showcased over 5,300 troops and 340 military assets. Meanwhile, a smaller parade downtown captivated thousands, underscoring the dichotomy in regional military spectacles.
