A doctor from the Community Health Centre in Manpur, Madhya Pradesh, has been apprehended for allegedly demanding a bribe to process an autopsy report. Dr. Rajendra Manjhi was caught accepting Rs 3,000 by the Lokayukta anti-corruption police, as confirmed by Superintendent Gopal Singh Dhakad.

The case unfolded when Virendra Kumar Yadav reported the demand made by Dr. Manjhi for forwarding his nephew's autopsy report to the police, crucial for accessing compensation, following the drowning incident over a month ago. The doctor had initially asked for Rs 10,000 but agreed to Rs 6,000.

A trap was set, leading to Dr. Manjhi's arrest under the Prevention of Corruption Act. As a result of the validated post-mortem report, the state government provided Rs 4 lakh financial aid to the deceased's family.
