President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, presided over the 32nd convocation ceremony of Mohanlal Sukhadia University in Udaipur, Rajasthan, on October 3, 2024. Addressing the gathering, she emphasized the importance of maintaining "The Spirit of the Student," urging students to embrace continuous learning, hard work, and dedication throughout their lives as they navigate a rapidly changing world shaped by advancements in knowledge, science, and technology.

In her speech, President Murmu encouraged the students to balance their personal ambitions with a sense of social responsibility. She stressed that social sensitivity is a natural human quality, but external factors like upbringing, education, and values can sometimes lead people astray into selfishness. She reiterated that true personal welfare is best achieved by contributing to the well-being of others.

Highlighting the importance of integrity, the President urged students to live with strong moral values and ethical behaviour in all aspects of life. "Every action you take should be just and ethical," she remarked, reminding students that their character is their most valuable asset, and they should never compromise it.

The President also emphasized the role of education as a powerful tool for empowerment. She commended Mohanlal Sukhadia University for its six decades of providing higher education, especially to students from Scheduled Caste (SC) and Scheduled Tribe (ST) communities, noting that this contribution supports social justice through inclusive education.

President Murmu expressed her appreciation for the university’s adoption of several villages, a move that has involved students in rural development. She praised the institution for its commitment to social responsibility, pointing out that such efforts align with the broader goals of fostering a more equitable and empowered society.

In conclusion, the President urged the graduates to carry forward the values of integrity, dedication, and social consciousness as they embark on their future endeavors, contributing positively to both their communities and the nation at large.
