Three civilians were killed and three others wounded during an Israeli airstrike on Syria's capital, Damascus, on Wednesday, according to a military source quoted by the Syrian state news agency SANA.
The airstrike reportedly targeted a residential building in the Mezzah suburb in western Damascus. Israel has a long history of conducting strikes against Iran-linked targets in Syria and has notably escalated these operations since an October 7, 2022, attack by the Palestinian militant group Hamas on Israeli soil.
