Lebanon's Call for Ceasefire Amid Rising Hostilities

Lebanon's caretaker Prime Minister Najib Mikati made a fervent plea for a ceasefire to halt the growing hostilities between Israel and the armed group Hezbollah. This conflict has resulted in the displacement of approximately 1.2 million individuals across Lebanon.
Speaking at a briefing organized by the American Task Force for Lebanon, a U.S.-based lobby group, Mikati emphasized the urgent need to end the violence. "Stop fighting. We don't need more blood. We don't need more destruction," he stated.
Mikati highlighted the catastrophic humanitarian impact and insisted that a ceasefire is necessary to prevent further bloodshed and devastation.
