In a desperate plea for reinstatement, over 10,000 former bus marshals petitioned the Delhi government and political leaders of AAP and BJP. In their open letter, the marshals underscored the hardships endured since their abrupt termination a year ago and demanded urgent action within a week.
'The education of our children has been disrupted, and we are battling immense financial and emotional stress,' the letter read. The marshals are also seeking representation in a crucial meeting with Delhi Lieutenant Governor V K Saxena, scheduled for Thursday.
The dismissal of these civil defence volunteers, orchestrated by LG Saxena last year, has left them in limbo despite repeated appeals and a supportive resolution passed during a heated Delhi Assembly session on September 26. Both AAP and BJP MLAs are poised to meet LG Saxena on October 3, committed to their reinstatement.
