Internet services were restored on Wednesday in Odisha's Bhadrak district as the area began returning to normalcy following communal tensions, officials reported.

The internet suspension had been enforced due to a clash between two communities on Friday over a social media post.

Additionally, authorities have partially relaxed prohibitory orders imposed in parts of Bhadrak and Dhamnagar towns in response to the unrest.

As a result, shops and other commercial establishments have started reopening in the coastal district's towns.

'So far, 33 people, including the individual responsible for the social media post, have been arrested,' stated DSP (Bhadrak City) Anshuman Diwedi.
