Court Extends Interim Bail for MP Rashid in Terror Funding Case
A court has extended interim bail for Baramulla MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid until October 12 in a terror funding case. Rashid, who will surrender on October 13, is actively participating in the assembly elections. He was initially granted bail on a Rs 2 lakh bond with strict conditions.

The court on Tuesday extended the interim bail for Baramulla MP Sheikh Abdul Rashid, commonly known as Engineer Rashid, until October 12. Rashid is involved in a terror funding case and was granted interim bail to participate in the ongoing assembly elections.
Rashid's lawyer, Vikhyat Oberoi, confirmed that he would now surrender on October 13, instead of the original date of October 2. Initially granted bail on September 10, Rashid was released from Tihar Jail the next day.
The court imposed several conditions for his bail, including prohibiting media interactions about his case and preventing him from influencing witnesses or ongoing investigations. Rashid has been in custody since 2019 for his alleged involvement in a 2017 terror funding case.
