Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah defended himself against money laundering allegations related to the MUDA land allotment controversy, questioning the basis of the case filed by the Enforcement Directorate (ED). He reiterated that he would not resign over the issue, describing the case as baseless.
Siddaramaiah's wife, Parvathi B M, decided to return 14 plots allotted to her by MUDA, attributing her decision to the political attacks on her husband. She stated that her husband's respect and peace of mind were more important than property.
The MUDA has since canceled the sale deed of the plots following Parvathi's submission. The opposition, led by the BJP, claims this move indicates guilt, while Siddaramaiah and the Congress argue the case is politically motivated.
