High-Stakes Heist: Axis Bank in Uttar Pradesh Robbed of Rs 40 Lakh

An audacious heist rattled Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district on Tuesday when an armed miscreant looted Rs 40 lakh from an Axis Bank branch. The robber, masked and armed, held the bank manager Naveen Jain at gunpoint, demanding the cash to repay a loan.
Bank security was overwhelmed, and Jain complied, sending his cashier Rohit to fetch the money. After securing the cash, the robber fled on a motorbike. SP Ram Sewvak Gautam Ramsevak confirmed that CCTV footage has been obtained and the bank staff is being interrogated as part of the ongoing investigation.
Reacting to the incident, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav criticized the state's law and order under BJP rule. He shared the robbery video on social media, pointing to the incident as a sign of deteriorating security.
