Journalist Arrested for Defaming Malayalam Actress on Social Media

A journalist known as 'Crime' Nandakumar was arrested on Tuesday for allegedly defaming Malayalam actress Shwetha Menon on social media.

Ernakulam North Police detained T P Nandakumar based on a recent complaint filed by the actress, leading to an interrogation and subsequent arrest under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023, Kerala Police Act, and IT Act.

Police revealed that the accused had uploaded objectionable videos of the actress, which amounted to defamation. Nandakumar had a prior arrest two years ago over allegations involving a fake indecent video linked to a woman minister in the state.
