The Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA) on Tuesday decided to reclaim 14 plots that were earlier allotted to Chief Minister Siddaramaiah's wife Parvathi B M, following her decision to relinquish ownership and possession.
This development comes in the wake of an ongoing investigation by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) into a money laundering case involving the Chief Minister. Parvathi's action is seen as a move to safeguard her husband's reputation and dignity.
MUDA Commissioner A N Raghunandan stated that after thorough consultations and legal verifications, the Authority has ordered the cancellation of the sale deed and has handed over the plots to the sub-registrar. The case has raised questions about the legality of the land allotment under the controversial 50:50 ratio scheme.
