Mohammed Miah, the director of a south-east London Indian restaurant, has been prohibited from acting as a company director for six years after two illegal workers were found at his business premises.

The illegal employees, hailing from Bangladesh, were discovered during a raid at iNaga restaurant by UK Immigration Enforcement. Miah, who ran the restaurant under I Naga Zaal Ltd, failed to check their right to work in the UK.

Kevin Read, Chief Investigator at the Insolvency Service, highlighted that Miah breached immigration law and failed to meet the expected standards of company directors. The disqualification, effective until September 2030, bars Miah from any company management roles in the UK.
