The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) has filed a closure report in the case against former NDTV promoters Prannoy and Radhika Roy, finding insufficient evidence to back allegations of cheating. The case stems from a 2009 Rs 375 crore loan from ICICI Bank, which was repaid over seven years ago.
The lawsuit was filed in 2017 following a complaint from Quantum Securities Ltd's Sanjay Dutt. He alleged financial irregularities involving RRPR Holdings Pvt Ltd, a firm linked to the Roys, and a ₹500 crore loan from India Bulls Pvt Limited.
Despite allegations of failing to disclose pledged shares to regulatory authorities, the special court will now consider the CBI's closure report and decide on the future course of the investigation.
