A case has been registered against five individuals for the alleged sexual harassment of a 35-year-old woman at a restaurant and bar in Thane, Maharashtra, police said on Tuesday.
The incident took place in the Majiwada area on September 21, prompting authorities to file the case on Monday. According to an official, a group of people were dancing when five men, one of them a doctor, allegedly touched the woman inappropriately.
The case has been registered under sections 74 (assault or use of criminal force to woman with intent to outrage her modesty) and 75(2) (sexual harassment) of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita. However, no arrests have been made so far, the official reported.
