The faculty and course members of the 64th National Defence College (NDC) Course met with President of India, Smt. Droupadi Murmu, at Rashtrapati Bhavan on October 1, 2024. During her address, the President highlighted the challenges posed by the dynamic global geopolitical landscape, urging civil and defense officers to remain aware of emerging vulnerabilities and leverage technology for the greater good.

President Murmu emphasized that today’s security concerns extend beyond territorial integrity, encompassing economic, environmental, energy, and cyber security issues. Addressing these concerns, she said, requires a holistic and research-driven approach.

Focusing on the growing threat of cyber-attacks, the President called for collaboration between civil services and the armed forces to create a secure national digital infrastructure. She underscored the importance of well-trained personnel and advanced technology to counter these threats, stressing that sensitive information within governance systems must be protected.

The President urged the course members to prioritize innovation and technological advancements to stay future-ready in tackling the challenges ahead.
