Prime Minister Narendra Modi is scheduled to participate in Swachh Bharat Diwas 2024, which marks ten years since the launch of the Swachh Bharat Mission. At the event, Modi will lay the foundation stone for a slew of sanitation and cleanliness projects, Jal Shakti Minister C R Paatil announced Tuesday.

Paatil highlighted that the projects include initiatives worth over Rs 9,600 crore aimed at enhancing urban water and sewage systems under AMRUT and AMRUT 2.0, improving water quality in the Ganga basin under the National Mission for Clean Ganga, and establishing 15 Compressed Biogas (CBG) plants under the GOBARdhan Scheme.

The event will also showcase the achievements of the Swachh Bharat Mission over the past decade, including the recently concluded Swachhata Hi Seva campaign. Nationwide participation from local governments, women's groups, and youth organizations is expected, ensuring that the mission's spirit reaches every corner of the country.
