The Bombay High Court on Tuesday criticized the Special Investigation Team (SIT) for its inability to apprehend the two accused school trustees in the ongoing Badlapur school sexual assault case.

A division bench comprising Justices Revati Mohite Dere and Prithviraj Chavan questioned why the police, known for their thoroughness in nabbing accused individuals, have failed to arrest the suspects in this particular case.

The court took suo motu cognisance of the case in August, which involves the sexual assault of two young girls at a Badlapur school, resulting in the arrest and subsequent death of the main suspect, Akshay Shinde.
