Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah stated on Tuesday that his wife, Parvathi B M, who has decided to relinquish ownership of 14 plots allotted by the Mysuru Urban Development Authority (MUDA), is a victim of 'politics of hate' directed against him. Siddaramaiah expressed surprise at her decision, claiming that Parvathi was previously focused solely on family matters but now endures psychological distress due to these political maneuvers.

In a social media post, Siddaramaiah revealed that Parvathi had returned the lands, which were allocated as compensation for property seized without MUDA acquiring it properly in Mysuru. He blamed the opposition for fabricating complaints to malign his family and generate political animosity against him. He stressed that while he resolved to fight the injustice, his wife's unexpected choice to return the plots has deeply affected him.

On Monday, Parvathi announced her intention to surrender the 14 sites given as compensation for her 3.16 acres of land seized by MUDA. This declaration came hours after the Enforcement Directorate registered an Enforcement Case Information Report (ECIR), alleging irregularities in the site allocations. Controversy stems from claims that the sites in an upmarket area held higher value than her original land and that she had no legal title to the 3.16 acres. Despite legal challenges, Siddaramaiah remains steadfast, asserting no wrongdoing and vowing to contest the case legally.
