The first version of the SuperGold Information Hub is now live, offering seniors access to a wide range of benefits and services, Minister for Seniors Casey Costello announced today.

“The SuperGold Hub is an online portal providing up-to-date details on all offers available to SuperGold cardholders," said Costello. "While many are familiar with the card's use for free off-peak public transport, the Hub highlights additional discounts on essentials like electricity, insurance, food, and healthcare."

The Hub also connects seniors to government-funded services, covering areas such as superannuation, aged care, and housing support. With nearly 600,000 users, it serves as a one-stop source for useful information about the SuperGold card and related services.

For those less comfortable online, friends and family can assist by accessing the Hub on their behalf. The announcement coincides with International Day of Older Persons, a time to reflect on the vital role seniors play in society.

“Our over-65s are integral to our communities and economy," Costello noted. "In 2021, they earned $5.9 billion from paid work and $4.7 billion from self-employment, contributing $10.1 billion in taxes."

As New Zealand's population continues to age, the importance of seniors in both family life and the workforce will only grow.
