DDA Expands PM-UDAY Centre Operations to Weekends for Faster Application Processing

The Delhi Development Authority (DDA) has announced that all 10 processing centres under the PM-UDAY scheme will now be operational seven days a week. This new schedule follows directions from LG VK Saxena and aims to expedite the application process for granting ownership rights to residents of unauthorized colonies in Delhi.

The PM-UDAY (Pradhan Mantri-Unauthorised Colonies in Delhi AwasAdhikarYojana) scheme targets 1,731 unauthorized colonies, providing legal recognition and ownership rights to residents. The move to extend operations to weekends is expected to increase the centres' capacity to process applications and reduce pending applications, thus ensuring timely delivery of ownership rights.

This initiative addresses frequent representations from residents facing difficulties in submitting documents and following up on applications during weekdays. The DDA anticipates that this measure will significantly improve accessibility, enhance the effectiveness of application processing, and speed up the issuance of authorization slips and conveyance deeds for the covered colonies.
