The West Bengal government is taking significant steps to enhance the security measures in state-run hospitals. Chief Secretary Manoj Pant announced on Monday that the results of these efforts would soon be visible.
Pant addressed the agitating junior doctors, urging them to remain patient amidst their protests, triggered by the RG Kar rape and murder case. The Supreme Court, expressing dissatisfaction over the slow progress, directed the state to complete the installation of CCTVs and necessary infrastructure upgrades by October 15.
Pant expressed optimism that the junior doctors, who partially resumed work after a 42-day strike, would fulfill their responsibilities. He highlighted that CM Mamata Banerjee is personally overseeing this initiative. The junior doctors had begun their protest on August 9, demanding key removals and improved security measures following a series of violent incidents against medical staff.
