The National Investigation Agency (NIA) on Monday said it has filed a charge sheet against three accused, including an absconder, for promoting the violent ideology of the banned CPI (Maoist) in Assam. The accused include Sabyasachi Goswami alias Kishore, Amiruddin Ahmed alias Amiruddin Laskar, and absconding Nirmala Biswas alia Sima Biswas.
According to NIA investigations, the trio, along with other Maoist members, actively disseminated the ideology of the terrorist outfit to mobilize people for a violent revolution. Their activities were part of a conspiracy to disrupt India's sovereignty.
The NIA revealed that the accused traveled across the country, especially targeting the Barak Valley to strengthen the Maoist network. They exploited socio-economic disparities to persuade vulnerable communities, aiming to further the agenda of the CPI (Maoist). The case was originally registered by Assam Police and taken over by NIA in March 2022, resulting in earlier charges against seven other individuals.
