Manipur CM Urges Swift Release of Abducted Youths Amid Protests
Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh has directed the police to secure the release of two youths allegedly abducted by militants in Kangpokpi. One of the three kidnapped men has been rescued. Efforts are ongoing with both central and state governments involved. Protests have erupted demanding immediate rescue.

Manipur Chief Minister N Biren Singh on Monday announced that the director general of police has been tasked with securing the release of two youths who were allegedly abducted by militants in Kangpokpi district three days ago. One individual among the trio has already been rescued.
Calling the incident 'very unfortunate,' Singh assured that both the Centre and the state government are actively involved in negotiations to ensure the safe release of the remaining two youths. 'We are engaging in talks now,' he stated while speaking to reporters during the 128th birth anniversary celebration of Jana Neta Hijam Irabot.
According to police sources, the three youths, including the rescued N Johnson Singh, had gone for an SSC GD recruitment test but lost their way, ending up in Kangpokpi. N Johnson Singh was later rescued by the army, but his companions, Th Thoithoiba Singh and O Thoithoi Singh, remain in captivity. Security forces are making concerted efforts to trace the missing youths.
