In a new development, a Mumbai court has directed the police to investigate a defamation and criminal intimidation complaint lodged by freelance reporter Mohsin Shaikh against actor Raveena Tandon concerning a road rage video.

The court has ordered the police to submit a report on the matter by January 3, 2025. This complaint, filed at the Borivli magistrate court, seeks action under IPC sections 500 and 506. According to Shaikh's advocate, the actor's lawyer has labeled the reporter an extortionist who refused to delete the contentious video from social media.

Despite police findings that no collision occurred, Shaikh claims his social media reportage was accurate and lawful. Tandon's defamation notice of Rs 100 crores is cited as an attempt of coercion and financial extortion under the pretense of legal action. The complaint alleges a targeted defamation campaign led by the actor and her followers.
