Militants Clash with Iranian Border Guards: Three Dead in Sistan-Baluchestan
At least three Iranian border guards were killed in clashes with militants in Sistan-Baluchestan province. Jaish-ul-Adl, a Sunni militant group, claimed responsibility for the attacks. Iran alleges that the group is based in Pakistan, a charge Pakistan denies. Tensions have previously brought the countries to the brink of war.

At least three Iranian border guards have been killed in clashes with militants in the restive Sistan-Baluchestan province bordering Pakistan, an official reported on Monday. This area frequently faces attacks from militant groups due to the porous border.
A security official informed PTI about four overnight attacks in Parud, Khash, Hirmand, and Domak. "Three Iranian security personnel were killed, and some others injured," he said. The Sunni group Jaish-ul-Adl claimed responsibility for the assaults, having emerged in 2012 as a successor to Jundullah and operating along the Pak-Iran border.
Iran claims Jaish-ul-Adl is based in Pakistan, but Pakistan denies this, stating it too has been targeted by terrorism. Earlier this year, mutual accusations escalated to near-conflict after Iran attacked rebel sites, and Pakistan claimed to hit terrorists in Iran in retaliation.
