A sessions court on Monday denied the bail pleas of four accused, including three suspended civic officials, connected to the May 25 TRP game zone fire tragedy in Rajkot, Gujarat, which claimed 27 lives.

Additional Sessions Judge ES Singh rejected the bail requests of suspended chief fire officer Ilesh Kher, suspended assistant town planning officers Gautam Joshi and Rajesh Makwana, as well as Ashok Jadeja. These four were among the 13 accused in the case who sought regular bail.

Special public prosecutor Tushar Gokani opposed the bail pleas, citing a strong prima facie case and significant scientific and documentary evidence against the accused, supported by forensic findings. Gokani also referenced concerns about witness susceptibility, many being small vendors.
