The Delhi High Court on Monday declined to entertain a public interest litigation (PIL) demanding the removal of the blockade at the Singhu border. The court suggested that petitioners approach the city police by filing a representation.

The petitioners' counsel argued that although no farmers are currently protesting at the Delhi-Haryana border, the barricades at Singhu are causing public inconvenience. A bench comprising Chief Justice Manmohan and Justice Tushar Rao Gedela asserted that the matter should be handled by relevant authorities, not the court.

The PIL was filed by three individuals who described themselves as public-spirited citizens. They highlighted that the blockade on National Highway-44 has persisted for over seven months, leading to severe traffic disruptions. The petitioners emphasized the constitutional right to free movement, pointing out that people traveling between Haryana and Delhi face significant hardships due to the barricades.
