Iran Vows Retaliation Against Israel Amid Rising Tensions with Hezbollah
Iran's Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani warned that Israel's recent killings of Hezbollah's chief and an Iranian Guard deputy commander will not go unanswered. The deaths of Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan and Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah have heightened fears of wider conflict in the Middle East.
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Nasser Kanaani has issued a stern warning that Israel's recent "criminal acts," including the killings of Hezbollah's chief and an Iranian Guard deputy commander, will not go unanswered.
Brigadier General Abbas Nilforoushan and Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah were killed in Israeli airstrikes on Beirut last Friday. Kanaani's statements have raised concerns that escalating conflict could spread, potentially involving Iran and the United States.
"We stand strongly and will act in a way that is regretful [for the enemy]," Kanaani warned at a weekly press conference, emphasizing that while Iran does not seek war, it is prepared to respond robustly. Iran is coordinating closely with Lebanese authorities over the incident.
