Two individuals were arrested for allegedly assaulting and threatening medical staff at Calcutta National Medical College and Hospital (CNMC), an officer confirmed on Monday.
The altercation occurred early Sunday when a patient arrived with a hand injury, accompanied by family members who opposed an immediate surgery recommended by interns at the emergency unit.
The situation deteriorated as the family verbally abused the doctors and physically assaulted them when alternative treatment options were not provided. Following an FIR, Beniapukur police acted promptly and arrested two persons.
