Samajwadi Party Leader Accused of Abducting Woman in Uttar Pradesh
A Samajwadi Party leader, along with another individual, has been accused of abducting a 22-year-old woman in Ballia, Uttar Pradesh. The woman has been missing since visiting the leader's home on September 25. Her father filed a complaint fearing for her safety, and an investigation is ongoing.

A Samajwadi Party (SP) leader and another person have been booked for allegedly abducting a 22-year-old woman in Ballia district, eastern Uttar Pradesh, police said on Monday.
According to the FIR, the woman visited the house of SP leader Shambhu Nath Yadav on September 25 and has since been missing. The incident occurred in the Ubhav police station vicinity.
Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Mohammad Faheem Qureshi reported that the woman's father lodged the complaint against Shambhu Nath Yadav, a former president of the district cooperative bank, and Pankaj Yadav alias Arpit.
Expressing concern over Shambhu Nath Yadav's criminal history, the complainant stated he feared for his daughter's life and that she might be in danger.
The FIR alleges that Pankaj Yadav abducted the woman with Shambhu Nath Yadav's assistance.
Police have initiated an investigation into the matter.
SP's district spokesperson Sushil Pandey confirmed that Shambhu Nath Yadav is indeed a party leader and has a history of serving as the district cooperative bank's president.
