In an unprecedented move, the Madhya Pradesh police have conducted operations against around 4,500 sexual offenders across the state within the last 24 hours, as confirmed by an official on Sunday.

Comprehensive data on 51,052 sexual offenders in the state has been compiled, and action was taken against 2,469 offenders with 2,447 interrogated and warned in the last 24 hours. In total, 4,916 sexual offenders have been subjected to police interrogation and received strict warnings, according to an official statement from the state police headquarters.

Under direct orders from Chief Minister Mohan Yadav to reinforce law and order and safeguard women and girls, a rigorous drive has been initiated targeting sexual offenders and individuals involved in gender crimes statewide. The police in all districts are conducting intensive investigations and surveillance on individuals involved in sexual crimes over the past decade. Repeat offenders and those guilty of sexually assaulting girls are under heightened scrutiny, with data amassed from police archives. Efforts are being made to monitor offenders who have relocated within the state, issue warnings for any suspicious behavior, and expedite the prosecution and resolution of POCSO cases and other sexual crimes in fast-track courts to ensure speedy justice.
