Delhi Police Busts Afghan-Run Drug Syndicate
Delhi Police have arrested two Afghan nationals, identified as Hashimi Mohammad Waris and Abdul Nayib, for allegedly running a drug syndicate. The police recovered significant quantities of heroin and cocaine during a raid. Both individuals were living in India on refugee status since January 2020 and met while working at a chemist shop.

The Delhi Police has arrested two Afghan nationals for allegedly running a drug syndicate, according to a statement released on Sunday. The accused, identified as Hashimi Mohammad Waris and Abdul Nayib, were apprehended during a raid in Tilak Nagar.
Police said that the raid resulted in the recovery of 400 grams of heroin and 160 grams of cocaine. Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crime) Amit Goel led the operation following a tip-off.
Waris and Nayib, both registered refugees who moved to India in January 2020, met while working at a chemist shop in Vikaspuri. Waris subsequently brought Nayib into the drug trade, enticing him with the prospects of a lavish lifestyle. Further investigations are ongoing.
