The Tripura State Jamiat Ulama-I-Hind, a key Muslim organization in northeastern India, condemned attacks on minorities in Bangladesh and called for their protection. President Mufti Tayebur Rahman emphasized that Islam does not condone violence and criticized recent events in Bangladesh's Khagrachari district.
Rahman also called for communal harmony and announced that the organization would submit a memorandum to the Assistant High Commissioner of Bangladesh in Agartala, urging for the safety of minorities in the neighboring country.
Additionally, Rahman expressed concern over attacks on minority families in Ranirbazar, West Tripura, following an incident involving the defacement of a Kali idol. He demanded strict punishment for the perpetrators and full compensation for the families whose homes were destroyed.
