Delhi Police has successfully apprehended Sonu, a gang member involved in an attack on a police patrolling party 11 years ago in Kotla Mubarakpur. Officials confirmed the arrest on Sunday.

Sonu, aged 36 and a resident of Nuh in Haryana, was linked to notorious criminal activities led by Mewat-based gangs during 2012 and 2013, creating chaos across south and southeast Delhi. Multiple police units were engaged in monitoring and tracking these gangs.

According to a senior police officer, the gang had assaulted a police vehicle on April 29, 2013, resulting in injuries to the officers, who then required treatment at AIIMS Trauma Centre. Acting on new intelligence, police formed a team and captured Sonu on Bisru Road in Punhana on Saturday.
