A youth who went missing in Manipur two days ago has been located and rescued by security personnel, officials confirmed Sunday.
N. Johnson Singh, one of the three missing youths, is now safe and has been handed over to the police by the army. The hunt continues for Th. Thoithoiba Singh and O. Thoithoi Singh, who went missing while en route to a central forces recruitment test. They ended up in Kuki-dominated Kangpokpi district after taking a wrong turn.
A viral video emerged Sunday showing the remaining two youths asking Chief Minister N. Biren Singh for their release. CM Singh met with both ruling and opposition lawmakers to discuss the rescue efforts and condemned the abduction. A Joint Action Committee was also formed in a public meeting to pressure for their swift return.
