The United States military announced on Sunday that it had killed 37 militants affiliated with the extremist Islamic State group and an al-Qaeda-linked group in two separate strikes in Syria.
Among the dead were senior militants, according to US Central Command, which targeted a senior militant from the al-Qaeda-linked Hurras al-Deen group and eight others in a northwestern Syria strike on Tuesday. The individual was responsible for overseeing military operations.
Additionally, a large-scale airstrike was conducted on September 16 on an IS training camp in central Syria, killing 28 militants, including at least four Syrian leaders. The military stated that these actions would disrupt ISIS' ability to conduct operations against US interests and its allies and partners.
