The Cyber Police Kashmir has issued a stern warning to social media users against spreading communal or sectarian tensions in the valley. This advisory comes in the wake of Hezbollah chief Hassan Nasrallah's killing in Israeli strikes in Lebanon.
''We've observed several inflammatory and sectarian posts on social media that threaten communal harmony. We urge everyone to avoid engaging in such divisive content,'' stated the Cyber Police Kashmir in an advisory posted on X.
The police have cautioned that any individual found sharing provocative content aimed at disturbing peace will face stringent legal action. ''Let's work together to maintain unity and tranquility in Kashmir,'' the advisory added.
Following the Hezbollah chief's killing, spontaneous but peaceful protests erupted in the Shia-majority regions of Srinagar and Budgam. However, reports have surfaced about provocative online posts from some social media users.
