A 16-year-old Nepalese girl was rescued at the Indo-Nepal international border in Rupaidiha, officials confirmed on Sunday. A 20-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the case.

Dilip Kumar, Deputy Commandant of the Sashastra Seema Bal's 42nd Battalion, stated that the girl and her companion were intercepted at a checkpoint on the trade and transit route late Friday night based on intelligence input.

Subsequent interrogation by multiple agencies revealed that the accused had lured the girl into accompanying him. The incident is suspected to involve human trafficking. The duo was handed over to local authorities for further legal action.
