The National Green Tribunal (NGT) has ordered the Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) to investigate the alleged illegal operation of various ready mix concrete (RMC) plants in Sabhapur Extension, northeast Delhi.

The NGT was reviewing a complaint asserting that these RMC plants are contributing to air and noise pollution while operating in violation of environmental regulations.

In a directive issued on September 23, NGT Chairperson Justice Prakash Shrivastava, along with judicial member Justice Arun Kumar Tyagi and expert member A Senthil Vel, instructed the DPCC to verify the situation at the ground level and take necessary remedial actions. The petitioner is required to submit a comprehensive complaint with supporting materials to the DPCC's member secretary. If the allegations are verified, appropriate punitive actions will be initiated within three months from the complaint receipt date.
