Tamil Nadu CM Stalin Seeks PM Modi's Aid on Chennai Metro, Education, and Fishermen
Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin met Prime Minister Narendra Modi seeking the release of pending funds for Chennai metro and integrated education initiatives and intervention to protect Tamil fishermen. Stalin described the meeting as purposeful and received assurances from the Prime Minister on all three demands.

On Friday, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M K Stalin convened with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, advocating for the prompt release of overdue funds for the Chennai metro and integrated education initiatives. He also called for PM Modi's intervention to safeguard Tamil fishermen.
Stalin presented a comprehensive report on these issues, with the Prime Minister attentively listening to the concerns raised. A major point was the demand for the swift release of funds allocated for the Chennai metro project's second phase, as Tamil Nadu had already expended Rs 18,544 crore, indicating delays due to pending dues.
Regarding integrated education, Stalin outlined delays in the first installment of the Centre-State funded program, emphasizing the need to amend the MoU to avoid language impositions. He also sought solutions to protect Tamil fishermen detained by the Sri Lankan Navy and requested a resolution at the upcoming bilateral meeting in Colombo. Post-meeting, PM Modi assured that all demands would be considered.
